EXETER WEST LIONS CLUB (CIO)

The Club was formed in 1971 and are now in their fifty third year. Membership currently stands at 22 with 14 men and 8 ladies. The community we serve stretches from the River Exe in the East to Newton Abbot in the West.

 In June 2018. The Club became a CHARITY INCORPORATED ORGANISATION (CIO)

With a Charity Number of 1178698

WHO ARE THE LIONS?

Club Members are people who

- wish to give something back to their community

- seek out areas of need and set about meeting those needs

- enjoy working together to help those less fortunate than themselves

The Club is part of the world's largest service organisation whose motto is "WE SERVE".

CLUB ACTIVITIES

The primary activities are:

WELFARE - Identifying the needs of our community

FUND RAISING - Planning ways of raising funds to meet agreed welfare requirements.

- Although the Clubs primary aim is to support local need. The Club also supports the 

 International Association of Lions Clubs in their worldwide activities e.g.

- Eliminating curable blindness

- Water Aid

- Disaster Relief work (Ie: Australian Bush fire, and British Floods)

- Youth programmes

- Eradication of measles
